Guide To Striped Bass Fish Tags

This is a picture of an actual tagged fish. The tag is muddied up with marine growth but there are numbers underneath that can be retreived. You can see the tag right behind the dorsal fin of the fish. This is one from the Littoral Society and usually the tagging is done by your fellow fishermen.
Here is an example of a belly tagged striper. Belly tagging is usually done by a state or federal agency.
Illustration of other possible tagging locations on the fish.
