Florida

4/15/09 Dave, Bob A, Bob C, and Chris left the trout behind for some
warmer sunshine state fishing. The next day our first charter is an old
reliable friend, Captain Jed of the Intoxication II out of Pompano Beach. We
landed over 20 Kings and Bonito False Albacore, lots of action on the troll even
threw back a small Dolphin. We drove down to the Keys to find windy conditions,
so kept on going and soaked in Key West for a day. We chartered our second boat
the Hooked Up out of Islamorada with Captain Z. As the case with many Florida
fishermen, we first caught bait, mostly Ballyhoo, then hit the deeper water with
live surface baits on spreaders, and one Kite flying high with two lines
attached. It didn't take long before Big Dave landed our first Mahi-Mahi. Bob
A landed the second Dolphin. Chris landed the third Dolphin. Bobby C with a
catch of a lifetime, landed and boated a monster Sailfish. When April comes
each time this year, with taxes due, don't just grin, fill out that form, let
the checks roll in, because it's almost summer let the fishing begin. Enjoy,
Happy Fishing!
